The Quaking Aspen (Populus Tremuloides) is the quintessential deciduous tree of the Rocky Mountains. The tree gets it's name from it's leaf that shimmers, or quakes, in the the wind. Especially enjoyed in the fall when the leaves change a beautiful yellow gold and shade of orange/red.

This piece pays homage to where the aspen grows, in the high altitudes of the Rockies, and each piece depicts a silhouette of a mountain.
